Naruto's half of the story is more original to the game, and revolves around a small squad of Konohagakure ninja attempting to stop Kuroma Tatsushiro, one of the last members of the ancient Dragon Gods, from unleashing and taking the power of the Genryū, five eternal dragons originally sealed in Mount Koryū, for revenge. The story is loosely based on the Itachi Pursuit Mission, and seems to take place shortly after its beginning. All characters wear new, armoured outfits that are based on their normal attire, with the exception of Tsunade and Jiraiya. Despite this, it seems to use graphics similar to the aforementioned Clash of Ninja games, and even reuses several models. Unlike the Clash of Ninja series, the game is more of a free-roaming hack-and-slash video game. Naruto Shippūden: Dragon Blade Chronicles, known as Naruto Shippūden: Ryūjinki (ナルト- 疾風伝 龍刃記, Literally meaning: Naruto Hurricane Chronicles: Dragon Sword Chronicles) in Japan, is a video game for the Wii. I give the game props for creating an original story that stays close to the source material and for the excellent voice acting.Naruto Shippūden: Dragon Blade Chronicles The game is fairly easy and seasoned gamers should have no problem plowing through this one during a rental. From start to finish it took me about 10 hours. The character Even with the horrendous, game killing, show stopping, slow down I did my duty and played through the entire game. Graphically Dragon Blade Chronicles is decent but not outstanding. You can easily equip four different nunjustu powers, ranging from Naruto Naruto and Sasuke have the ability fight their enemies with their blades (Dragon Blades are used instead of standard ninja weapons as part of the storyline) and their ninjutsu. Itĭragon Blade Chronicles is a 3rd person action game and at times it feels like it desperately wants play like the God of War series. A local ninja clan is attempting to control dragons (called Genryu) in order to destroy the world. If you watch the series on Disney DX and havenĪs for the story itself, it is surprisingly good if you like the Naruto style of storytelling. If you are still interested in the game after that warning then please read on, as the game offers up an otherwise decent take on the Naruto universe.ĭragon Blade Chronicles takes place in the later part of the Naruto Shippuden storyline and is a standalone side story written specifically for the game. This is because the game suffers from slow down so bad that it sucks the life out of this game and makes it nearly unplayable. My review for Naruto Shippuden: Dragon Blade Chronicles for the Wii will be a short one.
